What is a flower without its impermanence? In traditional still life, flowers are symbols of fleeting beauty, captured in the moment before their inevitable decay. But these blossoms defy that fate. They do not wilt, they do not surrender to time. Instead, they exist in a suspended reality, untouched by the natural cycle of blooming and withering. This is a nature that does not follow the laws of nature—a paradoxical vision, where fragility is simulated and permanence becomes an illusion.
Artificial nature is not a contradiction, but a reflection—one that distorts, enhances, and reshapes our understanding of the real. The human gaze has always sought to organize, manipulate, and redefine nature, from the careful cultivation of gardens to the preservation of botanical specimens.
